We've has been focused on the Coast region for the last 6 months with a view to publish work in Kwani's flagship journal. The discussion will be moderated by Kwani? Managing Editor, Billy Kahora.

Kwani Trust and British Institute of East Aafria (BIEA) jointly host #Burundi2015: The Crisis is Now. The recent electoral crisis in Burundi has been reported by regional and international press as a pending disaster, with reports that Burundi \'could descend into all out war.\' Yet, with weekly high profile assassinations, daily kidnappings and murders, and nearly 200,000 refugees, the experience for Burundians now is not one of waiting for war, but of urgent disaster and disruption of daily life.
Panelists include Yolande Bouka, Ketty Nivyabandi, Adams Sinarinzi. The conversation will be moderated by acclaimed Kenyan writer Binyavanga Wanaina.
Chimurenga Nairobi Launch in Collaboration With Kwani? – 5.30 p.m, 26th June 2015
Join us for a conversation with Billy Kahora (Kwani Trust), Ntone Edjabe (Chimurenga), Yvonne Adhiambo Owuor and Ngala Chome on June 26th at Pawa 254, Maguezi Theatre.
In 2011, Kwani Trust collaborated with Chimurenga on the 1st issue of The Chronic. The issue engaged with the question: when will the new emerge – and if it is already here, how do we decipher it? Now, Kwani and Chimu have worked together again on a recent issue of Chronic focusing on new cartographies of Africa – the issue is a response to Achille Mbembe’s essay, ‘At The Edge Of The World’.
