Mumbi Macharia, whose name Mumbi actually means "creator" is a writer, performing poet and artist. Born and raised in Nairobi, Kenya she started writing spoken word poetry around the age of 16 and has never put the pen down. She is a very storng believer of Black power and she seeks to represent African culture as much as she can. In her early days as a poet she would perform at Kwani? Open mic. She was a contestant in the June 2016 edition of slam Africa as well as the August 2016 slam Africa edition competing as a team. She believes she is destined for greatness and there is still so much more in store for her. Her art is how she expresses God. Being a creative doesn\'t define her, she defines the word.
