Ngatia Bryan is a performance artist, poet, writer and budding filmmaker based in Nairobi, Kenya. His performances blend storytelling with poetry. He goes by the moniker “Ngartia” while performing. "This name contrives the art that lives within me", he says.
Raised in Timau and Mitunguu, he moved to Nairobi to pursue a degree in Theatre arts and Film Technology at Kenyatta University. He started writing poetry at the age of 11 and has kept at it to the present. He started performing at Slam Africa and has grown to holding pioneering scripted performance poetry show titled "Losing Grip" in 2015, where he wrote ten poems and performed nine of them.
His pieces come in Gikuyu, Kimeru, English and Sheng’.
