2pm -3pm: Kwani? Mahewa
Kwani? Stories are soon coming to a phone network near you! Join us for a sampling hour with free downloads of audio stories from the Kwani? Online Store, and a chance to listen to short stories recorded and produced by Tim Rimbui from Ennovator Music Studios. The audio stories include: 

• Vain Jang'o, narrated by Victor Ber featuring music by Ma3
• Hakassa Renji's ‘A Kenyan Work Place’, narrated by Gathoni Mutua.
• David Mavia's Nyof Nyof narrated by Checkmate Mido

3pm-4pm: Kwani Open Mic: B+W Edition
Kwani? Open Mic comes to Blankets & Wine! Sign up to perform/ read your poetry between 2:00pm and 3:00pm at the Kwani? stage. At 3pm, the MC will use the list to call up the performers to recite or read their poetry and spoken word pieces.Kwani? Open Mic is now in its eighth year, and  is a monthly poetry and spoken word event held every first Tuesday of the month at IMAX Cinema on Mama Ngina Street. Each event features a poet / spoken word artist who has shown consistency and growth in performance and audience pull. Past features include, Ngwatio Mawiyoo, Phyllis Muthoni, Winyo, Eko dydda, Just-A Band, Juliani, Kenyan Poet (Njeri Wangari), Uko Flani Mau Mau and others.

4pm -5pm: Literary Salon: Creative Non-Fiction
An hour of readings and conversations from two Kenyan writers featured in the recently concluded Commonwealth Writers’ creative non-fiction workshops led by South African writer & journalist Mark Gevisser and Ellah Allfrey, Chair of the Commonwealth Short Story Prize 2014. The workshops featured writers from Malawi, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda and Kenya. Join Barbara Wanjala, published in Kwani? 06 and currently working on a collection of stories based on her extensive travels throughout Eastern Africa and Isaac Otidi Amuke, who writes creative non-fiction for Kwani? and was a 2013 recipient of the Jean—Jacques Rousseau Fellowship from the Akademie Schloss Solitude in Stuttgart, Germany. He has been working on a two part memoir on student activism and life as an urban refugee.

5pm -6pm: Kwani? Book Swap
Do you have books you have read and loved that you would like to exchange for other great reads? Do you have books that you would like to donate? Join us for an hour of book swaps. As part of our commitment to the growth of the creative industries in Kenya, we are introducing the Kwani? Schools Tour #SomaSoma, aimed at introducing younger readers in secondary schools & universities in Kenya to creative contemporary writing. During the Book swap, you are welcome to donate books from the Kwani? Series to schools via
